This family tree is based upon the person Burcard Riplin who is one of the earliest Zorn forfathers dated to 1197 in the historical chronology of U135. It seems as if the first familyname was Riplin and that it later was changed to Zorn. Burcard Riplin and his sons (Burcard and Hugo Riplin) and grandchildren (Burcard, Rulin, Otto and Claus) are recorded in a number of chronologies dating between 1197-1266. In these they are mentioned as citizens of Strassbourg and participants in a treaty commission. The first time the name Zorn is mentioned is with the brothers Burcard in the chronology of U411 in 1257 and Claus in the chronology of U422 in 1258.
